Start with the objects and the recipient
Loose contents can collide in transit or get lost under filler. We measure the real items, identify the most fragile components and design supports, dividers or fitted inserts accordingly. The order in which a person discovers the contents can reinforce the message of a campaign or product launch. The packaging should also be practical to pack, ship and open.
Before choosing materials or finishes, we ask how the kit will be delivered, whether it is a gift or a retail item, how many units are needed and whether the contents will change in future editions. These decisions influence the structural design, production method and budget.
A kit that can adapt
For a wine club, for example, a presentation system might hold four bottles of different shapes and include individual carriers that members can use as gifts. The challenge is to develop supports that work with different bottles while keeping the set stable and visually consistent. We model the structure, test it with real products, adjust the material and fit, and prepare the tooling or files needed for production.
For any kit, a functional prototype is the best way to validate protection, assembly and opening before the final run. A modular design can support future editions without requiring a complete redesign.
