Gin packaging: custom boxes and kits to support sales
A bottle can have a strong identity yet lose its impact when it arrives alone at the point of sale. Well-designed gin packaging protects the product, organizes its presentation and turns a bottle into a gift, a special edition or a corporate kit.
At A1Pack, we design and manufacture custom boxes for gin bottles, glasses, botanicals and accessories. We develop the structure, fitted inserts and graphics around the actual product. We work with micro-corrugated board, printed paperboard laminated onto micro-corrugated board, and folding cartons made entirely from paperboard, using screen or offset printing.
What should gin packaging achieve?
The first decision when developing gin packaging is to define what it must contain, how it will travel and the experience it should create when opened. A box for one bottle needs a different structure from a kit with glasses, tonic, botanicals or cocktail accessories.
- Protect the bottle and prevent movement during transport.
- Separate glassware and accessories with fitted inserts or dividers.
- Display the product through a window without weakening the box.
- Communicate the brand’s identity from the first point of contact.
- Reduce assembly time and make storage easier.

Gin packaging formats we can develop
Gin packaging with a handle and windows for a bottle and glasses

Micro-corrugated board provides strength and allows handles, windows and locking tabs to be integrated into a single piece. This type of gin packaging works well for kits containing one bottle and one or two balloon glasses. One- or two-color screen printing can be applied directly to kraft, retaining a craft appearance and controlling costs for limited runs.
Micro-corrugated box with laminated printed paperboard

When a brand needs photographs, gradients, solid backgrounds or several colors, the paperboard is printed in full-color offset and then laminated onto micro-corrugated board. The result combines graphic impact, rigidity and protection. It works well for launches, premium editions and display boxes.
Paperboard carton for kits or bottles

For a single bottle, paperboard allows a lightweight, foldable carton with a good printing surface. It can include windows, internal locking tabs and automatic closures. It is a suitable option for improving presentation without adding the bulk of a rigid box.

Gin gift kit packaging with custom inserts

When gin packaging brings together a bottle, glass, botanicals or other accessories, custom inserts organize each component and prevent movement during transport. Inserts and dividers are developed from the actual product dimensions to improve protection, presentation when the box is opened, and assembly efficiency.
“In Argentina’s manufacturing context, good industrial design is not the design that looks best in a render, but one that can be manufactured to a high standard, assembled without rework and kept within budget.”

Gin packaging: screen or offset printing to suit each project
Screen printing suits brands working with one or a few colors, especially on kraft or micro-corrugated board. It provides direct, visible graphics consistent with craft production.
Full-color offset is suitable for complex images, halftones, fine details and accurate color reproduction. It is applied to paperboard, which can be laminated onto micro-corrugated board when greater strength is needed. The choice depends on the design, quantity, use and budget.
Prototyping in the final material, or a close substitute, helps identify rigidity, fit or assembly issues before production tooling is made. For further technical guidance on packaging development and evaluation, consult the INTI Packaging Department.
How to plan gin packaging ahead of each season
Demand for gin kits grows around Father’s Day, Friendship Day, year-end celebrations, corporate gifts and product launches. Waiting until the campaign starts limits material, printing and finishing options. It also leaves less time to correct fit or adjust assembly.
- Define the kit contents and quantities.
- Measure the actual bottle, glasses and accessories.
- Develop the structure and produce a prototype.
- Approve the graphics on the selected material.
- Manufacture, assemble and deliver before the commercial campaign starts.
Planning ahead allows time to compare alternatives, reserve production capacity and define the gin packaging with enough time for prototyping and corrections. It also makes it easier to use the same structural base for different flavors, editions, promotional campaigns or sales channels.

What we need to quote your gin packaging
- Bottle dimensions and weight.
- Complete kit contents.
- Estimated quantity.
- Required delivery date.
- Available logo, label or brand guidelines.
- Delivery city and planned assembly method.
With this information, we can assess materials, printing methods and the structure of the gin packaging. Before manufacturing the run, we validate the fit with a prototype to reduce errors, optimize assembly and refine presentation.
If you are developing a gin brand or planning a seasonal edition, tell us which products the kit needs to hold. At A1Pack, we can support you from product development through to custom manufacturing.
