Custom glass bottles: design and development from 6,000 units

What defines a custom glass bottle

A proprietary bottle must express the brand and meet real requirements for filling, closure, labeling, transport and manufacturing. Before designing its shape, we define the product, capacity, closure system, filling line and planned quantity.

  • Define capacity, weight, stability and proportions.
  • Resolve the opening, neck and compatibility with the closure.
  • Create a recognizable shape that can be registered for the brand.
  • Prepare the 3D model for the manufacturer’s technical review.
  • Plan decoration, labeling, packaging and use on the filling line.

What A1Pack can develop for your bottle

Industrial design and form development

Bottle silhouette and industrial design reference

We start with the brand strategy, product and sales channel. We explore silhouettes, proportions, embossed details, grip areas and features that help the bottle stand out on a shelf, at a bar or on a table.

3D modeling and capacity

Bottle form and capacity development

We build the three-dimensional model, calculate capacity and adjust wall thicknesses, radii, base, neck and opening. The file helps assess the shape, produce renders and proceed with the manufacturer’s technical review.

Decoration, color and finishes

The project can include clear or colored glass, paint, frosting, screen printing, fired-on decals, metallic details, embossing and labels. We select options consistent with the identity and budget.

A1Pack can also integrate the bottle graphics and coordinate their application with the selected production process.

Caps, closures and accessories

Bottle closure and accessory reference

We define the type of closure and review its compatibility with the bottle opening. Depending on the product, the project may include a cap, cork, pourer, capsule or other components supplied with manufacturing.

“A proprietary bottle needs a clear identity and technical development that allows it to be manufactured, filled, closed and transported safely.”

From an idea to a bottle ready for manufacturing

A1Pack gathers the requirements, designs the bottle, develops the 3D model and prepares visual and technical documentation for discussions with the manufacturer. Each proposal is reviewed against process constraints and production volume.

Once an option is selected, we coordinate technical adjustments, tooling quotations, samples and finish options. The client approves each stage before authorizing manufacturing.

Development can include renders, a visual prototype or a factory sample, depending on the stage and budget. For further technical guidance on packaging, consult the INTI Packaging Department.

How a custom glass bottle is developed

Timing depends on complexity, tooling, samples and the selected finish. Starting early allows time to design, validate capacity, review feasibility and correct the sample before production.

  1. Define the product, capacity, closure and quantity.
  2. Develop concepts and select a direction.
  3. Model the bottle in 3D and calculate its volume.
  4. Review feasibility, tooling, decoration and samples.
  5. Approve production and coordinate it with the supplier.

Manufacturing can start at 6,000 units, subject to the technical and commercial assessment of each project. A1Pack coordinates development with the supplier until the design is approved for production. The client contracts manufacturing directly and manages international transport and importing.

What we need to assess your project

  • The product to be packaged and the required capacity.
  • Planned quantity, with an indicative minimum of 6,000 units.
  • Type of cap or closure system.
  • Target date for having the production run ready.
  • Available visual identity, label and form references.

With this information, we can define the design scope, stages, deliverables and information that the manufacturer must validate. Tooling, samples, bottles, decoration, closures and production are quoted separately.

If you are creating a beverage, olive oil, food product or cosmetics line, tell us what you need to package. A1Pack can support you from product development through to technical coordination of an exclusive glass bottle.
